Dear Friends and Supporters:
Harrison is at a turning point. After a decade of rule by one administration and the devastating impact of the pandemic, voters have the chance this November to choose a new path. It’s time to reassess what is working well and not so well in Harrison. We need to plan for how our town confronts the post-COVID “New Normal.” What is working well can be left alone. But what is not working well needs new solutions.
Our town hosts some of the world’s most dynamic and innovative businesses – PepsiCo, Mastercard and Morgan Stanley. The caliber of our town government should match the high standards of these world-class organizations. We need leaders who will instill and uphold such standards, applying problem-solving and financial experience gained from working at similar organizations.
Frank Gordon, a current Town Board member and Moving Harrison Forward’s candidate for Mayor, has this leadership experience. He spent a combined 25+ years at BlackRock Inc., Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP, Credit Suisse Group AG, and Deloitte LLP. Prior to his retirement, he was the CFO of a publicly-traded BlackRock investment fund with over $900 million in assets. He is also an attorney and CPA.
Frank is joined on the Moving Harrison Forward team by Rachel Berkey and Adam Weiner, candidates for Town Board. Rachel brings to the table a wealth of knowledge as an educator, attorney and librarian. She is a long-term Harrison resident and advocate for children with learning disabilities and other limitations. Adam is a project manager who oversaw global marketing campaigns as a Vice President at the Nickelodeon network, and worked with New York State to implement their COVID-19 contact tracing initiative within the Mid-Hudson Region. He is especially skilled at designing strategic plans to get things done, while leading and navigating organizations through times of change.
The skills of the Moving Harrison Forward team are diverse and complementary. With their backgrounds, they can devise solutions for what is not working well in Harrison. In addressing our town’s issues, they plan to access the untapped talents of our residents while also conferring with other municipalities to determine best practices.
Do we want to extend the politics as usual of the recent past or opt for a new direction? That is the choice that Harrison voters face this November. Gordon, Berkey and Weiner are the leaders we need to propel Harrison into the future.
