Harrison Town Board Meeting Statements Regarding Sexual Harassment Issue
April 11, 2019 / in Videos
Moving Harrison Forward’s strong public stance against sexual harassment has drawn the ire of current Mayor Ron Belmont and his Town Board majority. As part of the people’s business at the April 11, 2019 Town Board meeting, rather than inviting an open and honest public discussion of the continuing issue of sexual harassment in Harrison, Mayor Belmont, Councilman Sciliano and the rest of the majority attempted to muzzle mayoral candidate Frank Gordon into silence. No surprise as this is how Harrison’s insular ruling majority routinely treats dissenters. The point of contention was a March 29th statement made by Moving Harrison Forward’s mayoral candidate Frank Gordon and candidates for town board Lauren Leader and Michael Romita. This video shows the exchange from April 11, 2019. At the subsequent board meeting, on May 2, 2019, citizens spoke about their concerns on the matter. The video from that board meeting can be found here.
