Patch: Harrison Dems Announce First Fundraising Totals
From the Harrison Democratic Committee
HARRISON, NY — The Moving Harrison Forward Democratic slate of candidates—Frank Gordon for Mayor and Lauren Leader and Michael Romita for Harrison Town Board— strongly outraised their opponents with a reported total of almost $82,000 for their first financial filing disclosure of 2019. This represents more than two-and-a-half times the amount raised by incumbent Mayor Ron Belmont and his running mates who reported $31,000 for the same period.
This strong showing will help Moving Harrison Forward spread their message of smart development, fiscal responsibility and inclusive government that benefits the local community rather than a small group of political insiders.
In a joint statement, Gordon, Leader and Romita said, “Harrison is ready for a change. The people of Harrison deserve a town government that works for them and not a self-perpetuating and entrenched political establishment. Our fundraising efforts to date reflect the depth of grass roots support we have received from a diverse group of Harrison residents. We greatly appreciate the tremendous support we have garnered so far and we will continue to work hard for all Harrison residents.”
Reginald A. LaFayette, Chairman of the Westchester County Democratic Committee, added, “To my knowledge, this level of fundraising success is simply unprecedented for a Harrison town race. Harrison has stagnated at the hands of the incumbent political party for far too long. Frank, Lauren, and Michael will bring to Harrison an effective combination of professional skills and practical experience. They will be a refreshing change.”
