Dear Friends and Supporters:
This weekend marked the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. There is perhaps no more appropriate occasion than this to express our views on law enforcement and other uniformed personnel.
Our commitment and support for the Harrison Police Department is second to none. Resident safety and protection is a top priority, which requires that the Department receive robust funding commensurate with its vital responsibility. In addition, the safety of our police officers must not be compromised.
As a member of the Town Board, mayoral candidate Frank Gordon has put these principles into practice through his voting record in support of HPD. His commitment, and our commitment, to our town’s fire departments and emergency medical services are just as strong.
We would never trade on the reputation of town uniformed personnel for political purposes. We scrupulously refrain from using photos of uniformed personnel in our campaign communications, which is prohibited by law. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have their support or are lukewarm in our commitment to them.
We are passionate in our support of the Harrison Police and Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services, and many of their employees are likewise passionate in their support of us. We will ensure that they have ample resources to fulfill their essential missions.
